Top 10 MOST Expensive PSA Gardevoir Cards (2025)

7/5/2025

Gardevoir is a very popular pokemon and a big part of that popularity is due to some very unfortunate and twisted reasons that are not appropriate for all ages (or appropriate for most sensible people). Setting that aside, it’s a very rare and cool psychic pokemon from the Hoenn region and Wally’s trademark pokemon as well. Pokemon fans that have involved themselves in both the video games and tcg know that that these two pokemon realms do not mirror themselves a lot of the time. In fact, I could say that about the manga and anime too. I bring this up to address that while Gardevoir is not a weak pokemon in the games by all means, it doesn’t even come close to how powerful it’s been over the years in the trading card game. It’s been so dominant, it’s not even funny. As I’m writing this we’re in the Scarlet & Violet format if you play the tcg and the designers made sure Gardevoir left a very dominant mark in this format too. I easily deem it the most powerful pokemon in the tcg in terms of all the numerous powerful cards it has received since its debut in gen 3.

Now, all these factors must contribute to card prices to some extent, or maybe they don’t and these cards are just expensive because of their age and rarity like other cards. Nevertheless, today I decided to rank the 10 most expensive Gardevoir cards in a PSA 10 Grade as of writing this. Note this list does not include or consider Japanese or other non-English cards. I did a lot of research and the prices I include are estimates and could completely change in days. However, it will definitely give you a good grasp of what the rarest and most valuable Gardevoir cards are. Here we go!

For an old school player from that era, I consider this Gardevoir card the strongest one from its entire family and I’m sure many other like minded players would agree. Released in 2007 in the Secret Wonders set, this is specifically the reverse holo version of the Gardevoir from that set. At PSA 10 this card sells for around $600 and it’s not hard to see when it’s carrying a full collector’s package of iconicity, age and rarity. Pokemon didn’t print as many cards from the Gen 3 and Gen 4 eras of the game as they do now, not even close, so holographic cards from that period are rarer since they were printed in smaller numbers. When you mix it with how competitive and meta dominant this card was, it only amplifies this. This was definitely not a card that was just sitting in binder albums; it was seeing play, making mint condition copies truly rarer to come by. I have my own (not graded copy) and if you do as well, you should appreciate it.

We have a tie at number 9 already but I promise it’s the only one. Both of these cards go for around $740 at PSA 10 so it felt right for me to put them together. Keep in mind the ex Emerald print that goes for this much is specifically the reverse holo one with the set logo stamp. It’s poke-power is alright but the card as a whole isn’t particularly very strong even for it’s period. Besides that though, it holds all the other similar advantages I discussed just above. It is a very old holographic card from 2005 and the reverse holo style on this card is unique to ex sets from that era starting with ex Team Rocket Returns.

For this next card we return to Secret Wonders once again where Gardevoir was also blessed with the coveted Lv. X print. In my opinion this card is somewhat under the radar with some people not truly realising how rare it actually is, especially in mint condition. It goes for around $900 at PSA 10 and I foresee it rising fast and overtaking Gardevoir cards that are higher on this list. It meets all the conditions I described on previous very old Gardevoir cards and just like the regular Gardevoir from this set this card also saw play in GardiGallade decks. However, you have to remember as a Lv. X card it would be even less accessible from booster boxes compared to the regular Gardevoir holo. Secret Wonders was the only Diamond and Pearl set that included only 2 Lv. X cards, the least amount out of any other set from the era.

Being the popular pokemon that it is Gardevoir is one of those pokemon that even get more than one special print in an era while other pokemon get none. This happened in multiple eras and in XY it got both an additional basic EX and Mega Form EX. What the heck. These extra EX cards released in Steam Siege in 2016, the last regular set of the XY era if you don’t want to count Evolutions. However, starting with Breakthrough the remaining regular XY booster sets that released also featured additional special art versions of some of the trademark EX pokemon from those sets. They were secret rares with a golden border and the artworks featured 1 or even 2 additional pokemon alongside those trademark Exs. This is where we get this unique Gardevoir card that also has Yveltal hanging around behind it.

While the older cards have their own OG charm with holographic borders and true holographic artwork, newer cards have their own aesthetic advantage in full art prints. The card here is the original Gardevoir EX full art from Primal Clash released in 2015. It’s a decade old at this point and the elusive and mysterious type of art on this card makes it pretty beautiful if you ask me and I also prefer it over the vibrant Generations reprint. I’m likely not alone in thinking this, or maybe it’s because this card is the original print or just older, but it exceeds the Generations print by a significant amount selling for around $990 at PSA 10. I actually do wonder if this card will be able to keep surpassing some of the previous ranked Gardevoir cards in value as it is technically not as rare as far as I know but perhaps I’m wrong.

At PSA 10 this card sells for around $790 and I only see it going higher giving this uniqueness and coolness factor this card has. You don’t see that too often with Gardevoir cards I think. Perhaps it may not even be that relevant though, as this would be a valuable card simply due to its rarity as a special secret rare. It’s not a typical full art EX from that era. Playability wise this EX was also mostly average on its own and its main real use was once again to get into Mega Gardevoir EX. Either of the 2 as of this set. I do find it pretty cool in terms of artwork though.

This one is one of my personal nostalgic favourites and I also deem it the most iconic Gardevoir card; perhaps alongside the original Ken Sugimori one from the original ex Ruby & Sapphire set. It is the first special print Gardevoir got, a stage 2 ex pokemon from the first batch of evolution ex pokemon from ex Sandstorm. That would be the second ex series set right after ex Ruby & Sapphire in 2003. It checks all the collector’s boxes you can think of with no effort and just like numerous other Gardevoir cards this one also saw a lot high tier play as an incredibly strong attacker in games where both players had a lot of energies in play. Finding a mint condition ex like this, especially in PSA 10 won’t be the easiest task in the world which is why it sells for around $950 and will obviously only get more expensive if more people strive to obtain it.

You probably thought this would be the most expensive Gardevoir card if you’re a newer entrant in the pokemon tcg or maybe you still knew better. Either way, while not the most valuable Gardevoir or the oldest to get, the special art version of Gardevoir & Sylveon GX from Unbroken Bonds is still one of the most expensive Gardevoir cards at PSA 10. At this grade, this Tag Team GX sells for an impressive $1300. We’re talking about a card from 2019 here and even though I know a big part of this price is because Tag Team GX cards are popular I still believe the biggest culprit for this price are the print shortages for all the tag team Sun & Moon sets from that period that never got addressed thoroughly. I mean, other modern cards are just as popular but not nearly as expensive because more of those cards are around.

I was surprised to learn that the regular Secret Wonders Gardevoir holo is currently more valued than the Lv. X from the same set since it is technically not as rare but that’s the current situation. Yes, some of you may be surprised to see this specific Gardevoir card ahead of the Tag Team GX among others but it’s not as unbelievable when you consider everything I said when talking about the reverse print. Reverse Holo cards from the DP era are nice but we have to be honest; they pale in comparison to the bold true holographic cards from Gen 2, Gen 3 and Gen 4 in this case. The original holo rare version for this Gardevoir is a lot more beautiful in my eyes and the large price difference with the reverse at PSA 10 is proof that many others think the same. In this grade this lovely card sells for around $1500 surpassing the Tag Team GX by a considerable amount.

10. Gardevoir (Secret Wonders)

9. Gardevoir EX (Generations + ex Emerald)

8. Gardevoir EX (Steam Siege)

7. Gardevoir Lv. X (Secret Wonders)

6. Gardevoir ex (ex Sandstorm)

I could probably write a whole article specifically on that period but I seriously would rather just put it behind me. It would be sloppy of me to not address the other advantage this card has that also likely pushes this high price. Since Tag Team GX pokemon are technically 2 pokemon at least, this card is also a Sylveon card too. Sylveon is an eeveelution and another very popular pokemon so you potentially have another camp of fans that would want to obtain this card driving demand. Lastly, once again, this is another card that saw high tier play in its era which again means a number of these card’s print are not and can never be mint. All in all, it’s obviously pretty cute and adorable but I’d rather have some of the old school cards in PSA 10 instead.

Our number 1 card here is pretty much driven by one factor only: Rarity. This secret rare Gardevoir card did not really see much play, or has any iconic history behind it, it is simply very, very difficult to obtain so mint copies of it at PSA 10 will unsurprisingly drive its price up. The best way to describe this card is like a mini Gold Star. You could buy several Gen 5 booster boxes and never pull any. The Gardevoir in the artwork is a shiny pokemon; a few others of its kind exist in the Black & White era and while they’re all valuable, some of them benefit from different factors. This shiny Gardevoir card released in the Dark Explorers set in 2012. If you think Evolving Skies and some other modern sets had their prices skyrocket too soon then I’m here to tell you Dark Explorers did that 5 times worse.

5. Gardevoir EX (Primal Clash)

I consider this Gardevoir ex less iconic than the original from ex Sandstorm but I cannot deny it is very iconic as well in similar but also different ways compared to the original. Released in 2006 in the ex Dragon Frontiers set, it is not as old as a few Gardevoir cards from Gen 3, but 2006 is such a long time ago in the tcg world that it doesn’t make much difference now. In terms of overall usefulness and power, this Gardevoir card is probably the strongest from Gen 3 and is at least more powerful than the ex Sandstorm print as far as I’m concerned. It saw good high tier play in its time like most of these cards here but has a bunch of other things to it that make it unique compared to other Gardevoir cards. Its Imprison poke-power pretty much let’s you choose one of your opponent’s pokemon and have their poke-bodies and/or poke-powers negated.

With that, we’ve reached the end of this Top 10 article. The most expensive PSA 10 English Gardevoir cards your money can buy. Prices on pokemon cards never stay the same as I said in the intro. The order and prices for these cards could change tomorrow but nonetheless I hope you found this article educational and entertaining enough to boot. Gardevoir is certainly a popular pokemon with a lot of pretty and cool cards to its name and I doubt that’s changing anytime soon. Thanks for reading and I’ll see you on the next post!

4. Gardevoir & Sylveon GX (Unbroken Bonds)

3. Gardevoir (Secret Wonders)

2. Gardevoir ex (ex Dragon Frontiers)

1. Gardevoir (Dark Explorers)

The manner in which you gained this effect is what makes it so unique compared to other cards. This was a short lived gimmick unique to only 2 cards from ex Dragon Frontiers, one of which was the Gardevoir ex and the other a Tyranitar ex. You gain this effect by putting an Imprison marker on your opponent’s pokemon. You can think of these markers as a burn or poison marker for the tcg but something that could be inflicted only with this card’s poke-power. Tyranitar ex also had its own marker too. I don’t know all the details for sure but these markers could be obtained in the ex Dragon Frontier theme decks from the time, or at least when I was a kid and bought some counterfeit theme decks they had them.

What also makes this card special is just by being a Delta Species pokemon and an ex at once. Delta Species pokemon was a significant theme exclusive to the Gen 3 ex series sets and many of these pokemon cards have a raised price on them just by being Delta Species pokemon in the first place. These special factors along with its rarity, iconicity and age push this card to sell for $1600 at PSA 10 leaving a lot of other Gardevoir cards in the dust by comparison. A very coveted card no doubt, but still, not the most expensive Gardevoir card money can buy.

It can certainly add to the value of many other cards from that period. Generations by comparison is a much newer set coming out in 2016 but it’s still an old set on its own; being nearly a decade old as of writing this. Not only that, but Generations was a special type of set released to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Pokemon and Generations booster packs would not be as abundant as packs from a regular pokemon booster set. This adds to the rarity of the desired cards from that set and this Gardevoir is a good example. It’s an alternate art of the Primal Clash EX that released in 2015 and while not a big meta card on its own, it was a necessary stepping stone for Mega Gardevoir EX. The vibrant and cute artwork that also features its pre-evolutions must also be a charm that adds to this card’s price and it also stands out as being one of the few radiant type cards. As far as I know this type of rarity was unique only to this set in the Gen 6 era and Legendary Treasures before it in the Gen 5 era. I’m not personally that fond of either of these 2 cards but they secure their spot at number 9.

But if we were to directly compare it with the Steam Siege secret rare; a Gardevoir card from the same era even it would not be as rare. Maybe it’s just the artwork at the end of the day and I’m overthinking it but at least for now it is the 5th most expensive Gardevoir card in our list here.

Booster boxes for this set became very expensive very quickly and surpassed even numerous Diamond and Pearl sets that were several years older. These shiny pokemon in Gen 5 were reprints of existing regular pokemon from the era. The original print of this Gardevoir is from Next Destinies, the very previous set actually. Trivia jargon side, the price of this card is no joke as it goes for nearly double the price of our number 2 and number 3 Gardevoir cards here. At PSA 10 this shiny Gardevoir card sells for $2900 and I don’t see it ever going down by much since it is like a crappier mini Gold Star card.

You may think “that only makes it easier to pull” but not quite as unlike most DP sets from the era you could also open a Secret Wonders booster box and not pull a single Lv. X indeed. That’s what happened to me at least. I could always be proven wrong in my prediction but I’d try to secure one quickly if you don’t have it and are a hardcore Gardevoir collector. For now though, it sits on the number 7 spot.

It’s an excellent and beautiful card that carries an entire pokemon tcg history and legacy and while I do think the Lv. X may likely overtake it eventually it is no doubt the 3rd most valuable Gardevoir card from this list right now.
