Millennium Print Group Secures Major Lease at Spark Manufacturing Campus To Print Pokemon Cards

Millennium Print Group Expands at Spark Manufacturing Campus
An unidentified company has recently agreed to lease a substantial 1.27 million square feet at the Spark Manufacturing Campus located in Morrisville, North Carolina. According to the developers, this monumental lease represents the largest manufacturing lease signed in the United States in 2025, indicating a significant milestone in the manufacturing sector.
Details of the Lease Agreement
While the developers have not publicly named the tenant involved in this record-setting deal, sources confirm that it is the Millennium Print Group. This company, based in North Carolina, was acquired by TPCI in 2022, and it has become a notable player in the printing industry, particularly specializing in trading card games.
Significance of the Expansion
Millennium Print Group is well-known for its production of Pokémon cards and other popular trading card games, operating at multiple facilities throughout North Carolina and the Netherlands. The latest expansion at the Spark Manufacturing Campus includes the leasing of over 400,000 square feet of existing buildings in addition to a newly constructed facility that will span 866,000 square feet. The construction of the new facility aimed at increasing the production capacity of Pokémon Trading Card Game cards is set to be completed in 2027.
In response to rampant demand and persistent shortages affecting card availability, TPCI (The Pokémon Company International) has acknowledged the challenges posed by current printing capacities. They have confirmed that they are operating their existing printing infrastructure at maximum capacity, which has resulted in a bottleneck that hampers the production of Pokémon cards. According to insider discussions, this production bottleneck is primarily due to the limitations of the current printers; they simply cannot keep pace with the surging demand from collectors, players, and fans.
This situation became notably pronounced after the launch of Pocket in the fall of 2024, which amplified the already heightened interest in the TCG. To provide some context, the Pokémon TCG achieved its highest print volume to date, producing an impressive 11.9 billion cards from March 2022 to March 2023. Following this peak, the subsequent year, from March 2023 to March 2024, still saw substantial production at 10.2 billion cards. However, it is important to note that this latter period had begun to feel the pressures of impending shortages, primarily driven by the escalating demand sparked in late 2024.
With increased printing capacity, fans can anticipate a more robust supply which could mitigate the shortages that have frustrated many within the community.
