Evil Hero Turbo (2008)

How yugioh monster themes are in the anime don't always accurately reflect how they are in the real tcg. Evil Heroes are the perfect example for this, as in the GX anime they're supposedly the cold and ruthless serious versions of Judai's usual Elemental Heroes that are super strong. Some of them to excel in having very high attack stats but the theme is let down but a lot of other problems. There's a reason why they are not known as a top deck winning and topping events back in their day. Even so, they can still be potent and fun to use and this is one of my lists with them:

Notes and strategy: One of the biggest issues with making a fusion deck based on Evil Heroes is that there isn't any to access Dark Fusion directly from your deck, unlike Polymerization. Not even a bad one. So our best approach will have to be to draw our way to it. Thankfully, there is a reliable way to do that and that's with the ever cool D-Hero engine. Stratos would be in this deck anyway to grab Elemental Heroes or Evil Heroes if you're running some other variants. Speaking of that, our focus for this Evil Hero deck will be completely on Lightning Golem. This card can destroy a monster every turn giving you good removal and punishing your opponent even more if they can't do anything put be passive. Once you fuse at least one Lightning Golem, you can Dark Calling fuse your way into Dark Gaia as well if you need a monster with pure high attack power.

In other variants, you could easily have Dark Gaia reach over 5000 attack but at 3400 you will still be stronger than most monsters commonly played in 2008. Why these specific numbers you ask? Well it's due to fusing the Golem with The Dark Sealed Hex Fusion. This card is a must have addition in any way you build your Evil Hero fusion deck because it fulfills so many roles at once. It can act as a fusion material substitude for any of your Evil Hero fusion monsters. It is dark so it can be allured away for draw, rock type to be used for Dark Gaia and a Crush Card target.

Back to Dark Fusion and why we have to run the deck like this: You will have to spend a lot of cards to fusion summon, so if you use Dark Calling first and remove from play your monsters you're doing things backwards and not getting the best value of your deck. You can't afford to do that. In other variants if you're focused on a fast OTK it could be alright, but I want to be mindful of my card advantage with this version. This is why we need to draw and fuse with Dark Fusion first and later get a free fusion with Dark Calling by banisning monsters exclusively from the graveyard.

The Destiny Heroes run here might seem weird or random but they have been specifically chosen for this very deck. There are no Diabolic/Malicious because we don't care about his free summon presence on the field. We don't tribute summon and we don't need a card in hand that we can't normal summon. Diamond Guy can be used to kill Fossil Dyna and Dunker can crash into it. If you get blocked from fusion summoning you will lose the game very quickly as you won't be able to do anything. Fear Monger is run as he could anble you to get free draw with Disk Commander but for the most part all of the D-Heroes here are meant to be spent on Destiny Draw and Allure. It's also why we cut back on the third Sparkman and Clayman; we need to make sure our draw cards don't get stuck in hand and those extra dark attribute monsters are needed.

With 5 spells to grab Stratos from the deck you will almost always get access to him in your starting hand which is important for our fusion strategy. That's all there is to it! Staple cards should be self-explanatory and there isn't any space for trap cards and other techs. Dark Armed Dragon is alo difficult to manage in this version so you're better off not including it.

This bring us to the end of this deck article. Even though I built this version the best way I can it is still not going to be perfect. You could still end up or draw into hands where you have 3 Dark Fusions in hand and other random cards that you can't do anything with. But this is why this is a fun rogue deck and not a consistent meta deck. Try it out and I'm sure you will have fun!
