Estimated Sales Data For Yugioh In 2024

Yugioh in the Global Trading Card Game Market
It's true that Yugioh is facing a lot of bumps in terms of getting fresh new players into the game and facing a lot of competition from its usual rivals; Magic the Gathering and Pokemon and competition from Bandai and particulary the One Piece TCG is getting more and more relevant. However, it still remains as one of the highest selling trading card games. As of 2024, its market size across all regions was estimated at a remarkable USD 6,614.2 million.
Yugioh's Current Position in North America
In North America shares the majority of the market, contributing to an astonishing 40% of global revenue. Specifically, it accounted for a market size of USD 2,645.68 million in 2024, indicating strong consumer loyalty and continued enthusiasm for the game.
Sales Performance Across Europe and Asia
In Europe, Yugioh's market size was estimated at USD 1,984.26 million, representing 30% of global market share.
Meanwhile, in Asia, Yugioh held 23% of the global revenue, translating to a market size of USD 1,521.27 million. Needless to say the majority of these sales are coming from Japan.
In contrast, the market performance in the Middle East and Africa is markedly lower, constituting only 2% of the global market with a size of USD 132.28 million. This disparity indicates potential room for growth as interest in trading card games begins to permeate these regions.
Additional Figures to Consider
Legacy of Destruction, a booster set released in April 2024 made sales of 9 million yen in Japan and Quarter Century Chronicle, a special booster set made 5.1 billion yen in February 2024.
To my surprise Yugioh Master Duel was also reported to have generated the most revenue compared to other online card games but only for the month of June 2024. As to be expected from such an established game, it is still thriving regardless of me and many others players not enjoying the game anymore. I estimate sales will improve even more when the new Yugioh anime starts airing, as Konami's goal with that is to hopefully get some new fresh players into the game.
