Dusknoir Bronzong (2009)

1/2/2026

Dusknoir has a reputation of commonly getting amazing prints usually with powerful poke-powers or abilities. At least if you're someone that pays attention to these little things. It hit the ground running from its deputing era in DP with nearly every different Dusknoir card ranging from great to excellent. I'd say it is kind of the mascot or face of the Stormfront set which is why it got 3 great cards from that set alone. All of which are going to be featured in this deck profile. As it's commonly the case with many of these DP decks, there isn't only one ultimate way to build a deck around Dusknoir but this is one of my versions at least:

Notes and strategy: Shadow Command Dusknoir is good but it's poke-power draw also sort of conflicts with Claydol which is somewhat annoying for me. Nevertheless, you'll appreciate it if you happen to get this card out before Claydol. More importantly than that, is the Damage Even attack which isn't only deadly if your Dusknoir is really hurt but can also access the bench, which is my favourite aspect of it. It means you can kill damaged pokemon your opponent is trying to save or take out Claydol in a single shot if you have 80 damage on Dusknoir. Night Spin is more situational and doesn't deal that much damage but perhaps could prove handy if you play against Kingdra or other pokemon that don't have a lot of energies on. Nonetheless, instead of running a second copy I'd still rather have 1 Spirit Pulse Dusknoir in its place.

Darkness Mist is a conventional attack that does a solid 80 damage if the defending pokemon has at least 2 damage counters on already. This Dusknoir can come in fresh and attack and doesn't have to worry about being really hurt already to deal damage. Spirit Pulse is also excellent dealing passive spread just by having this Dusknoir active helping you soften up pokemon or even score specific KOs. The coolest bonus is when you can finish off a Stormfront Gengar and avoiding Fainting Spell. The spread theme of this deck is only amplified with Dusknoir Lv. X that also spreads damage, and Majestic Dawn Bronzong which will also do it without needing any energy investment. If your opponent uses a lot of pokemon with poke-powers we can use Bronzong in the early to mid game while preparing our Dusknoirs with energies.

Lastly, one of the combos we automatically have access to with this deck is with Dark Palm Dusknoir. This card has been teched in various DP decks that wouldn't have anything to do with other Dusknoirs but in a deck based around the actual pokemon itself it's obviously even easier to include. In fact, just its presence alone is enough to make your opponent play differently and avoid benching more than 3 pokemon; as soon as they see any Duskull on your field. Into the late game Hard Feelings is also going to be a very strong attack. Lumineon might seem random if you don't know what it does, but it's also in here for the Dark Palm combo. We can force our opponent to play a pointless pokemon down that we can easily KO, while meeting the condition for Dark Palm to activate. Thus, we can instantly remove an opponent's fresh and deadly set up pokemon loaded with energies and make all their efforts useless. It's also why you should run a few switching outlets.

A few more things that are important to note. We don't run any stadiums in this deck because they can conflict with Dusknoir Lv. X. This card becomes a stadium when killed and this is how we get all the great spread damage from it. If removed, it also recycles itself back in our hand making it even better which why you don't have as much of a reason to include Pokemon Rescue or Premier Ball in this deck. What you should try to do in this deck though is run at least 1 Unown G and to put it on the Dusknoir Lv. X. If you get killed by effect damage then Dusknoir Lv. X can't become a stadium so you need this card on against opposing Dusknoirs and especially Stormfront Gengar.

That's all about this Dusknoir deck Gs! It's a deck that needs more set up and planning to make the most of than another random aggressive deck, but it has a lot of benefits others decks aren't going to have too because of this. Hope you enjoyed it and Wazzuuup!!
