Cards Of The Week #26

Bartholomew Kuma (OP16-093)

At this point, the game has several cards that give you draw regardless of color. The best draw enablers can even net you 2 cards in the case of Marco, Linlin and Pudding but if you can at least get a +1 for my usual yugioh terms then the card won't be too bad. But breaking even is a bit of a waste, which is the case for this Kuma.

You can still use this effect to regulate your hand and throw away cards you may want in the trash but in the end it's still going to be a much weaker effect than grabbing 1 new card at least. He will also give you a rested DON!! and has some standard attack power for a cost 3 that also has +1000 counter in hand.

Our guy here could have some use in a Sabo deck since he could boost his attack to swing on leaders but competition is pretty fierce. Even if you were to disregard the Elbaph cards with Sabo many other Revolutionary Army cards will still be stronger.

Hibari (EB03-008)

Sword theme Navy cards can sometimes prove annoying with the Koby leader and Hibari here contributes to that. You try and get some field presence down and your opponent can weakne and kill them before they even have a chance to attack once. It's not perfect but it's not weak either.

You have to do something about Hibari or your opponent will get to reap a -1000 decrease on you every turn. Making your Sword leader or character able to attack active characters all the time will also prove stressful on you if your opponent controls the game right.

Your opponent may also choose to leave this card active and stack the debuffs every turn. This can also open the door for better range on removal effects. Unlike some other mid-cost characters; she may not be as good in the late game against many decks. However, she will likely reap you a lot of value in the early to mid-game making her a solid card for the most part.
