Cards Of The Week #19
Uta (ST23-001)
If you ask me this Uta is a bit overrated by some players but that's not to say it's a bad card or anything. I recognize the nice dual-utility. She is simply a +2000 counter in hand (already making her a staple card) but she can also become a cheap to play blocker if you have a character down with 10000 attack power or more.
Now, normally a 2 cost blocker with no other effect isn't anything special, but the neat bonus here is that her official cost is still 6 after she comes down. This means she's going to be slightly harder to remove or rest by some effects but she's still not invincible. Small little bonus but neat nonetheless. The 4000 power could also become usable in a specific game state if you played her for only 2 DON!!

Kozuki Momonosuke (OP06-107)
This card is also showing its age at this point as it doesn't really compare well with most new cards at the same cost. Especially yellow ones. 5 cost for 6000 power would have been okay still if he had +1000 counter in hand but since he doesn't, he's already starting at a stat disadvantage. When you summon this guy you can place a Land of Wano character from you field as face up life, except any Kozuki Momonosuke.
The only way this is going to be decent is if you place a cheap character you played for support, like a searcher for example. They did print some cards in OP06 like her sister that's sort of meant to synergize with him but regardless, it's not the most efficient way to gain life. Just compare him with Kizaru or Kuma for example and it should be obvious even to a lesser player. That's assuming you have a little character that survived too. If your opponent can somehow kill them with an effect and you have nothing else down you won't even get to reap the extra life bonus in some game states. Like Kizaru, he's also a blocker and that is a good thing no doubt.
Yellow Wano decks have been bad from the start and the newer cards they printed didn't help that much either. These days, if I tried to run a deck like that I don't think I'd even include this card there but that's the reality of new cards vs old cards a lot of the time.
