Cards Of The Week #17

Mr. 3 (Galdino) (OP16-056)

It's a good thing they didn't give the effects of this card to cost 2 character or something because that would have made the design even more of a joke. Either way, the card is still completely broken. Especially when you compare it to Sanji's Pilaf which was kind of based on an old Duel Masters card, which is basically Pot of Greed.

Sanji's Pilaf costs 1 DON!! less but Mr. 3 will also be a counter in hand which the Pilaf isn't. Sure you can get lucky with the trigger effect, but with Mr. 3 you get an incredibly better bonus by comparison. Use the effect of Mr. 3 and you'll also stun one of your opponent's biggest characters possible from attacking. The range is beyond generous considering you're getting this effect while drawing 2 cards.

This is one of the strongest generic control cards you can run in any blue deck. To try and pick apart faults with this card would be taking the piss. 5/5 for sure.

Kujyaku (EB03-041)

Very simple, yet essential to get the most out of your mid-range Sword cards; this vixen. On an unrelated card review note, the whole "Sword" navy concept from One Piece seemed to me that it was thrown out by Oda on a whim and I don't like it. Even if that's not the case the weird plotholes it creates makes that annoying for me. Not talking about the Sword characters, just the Sword concept of the navy.

Anyway, while this card can't be splashed in any black deck, it is a solid navy card with its D-Draw style discard 1 and draw 2. If you do the best thing and you run her with navy cards that are also Sword themed then she will power up those cards during your opponent's turn by a significant +2000 power.

They have to be 6 cost or less but even if you don't have any others she applies the powerup on herself too which is excellent. What's even more amazing is that this effect can stack with even more copies of her turning your army of Sword cards into full-fledged boss characters. They're going to be very hard to kill when that happens.

Great card all in all and if you're a Sword/Navy player I'm sure you would agree.
