Cards Of The Week #10
Brook (EB02-048)
Maybe it's just me but the full art for this Brook card is mostly a downgrade than the regular print. Either way, looking at either card is a reminder of how much better the design and art direction was for Brook in the series before the time-skip. Less focus on the violin and piano for an electric guitar was also worse for me.
In terms of what this card does for the game, it's very simple. It's a recovery card on summon and a replacer card on KO. Only the cards you can recover or play have to be Laboon cards. It won't be like all the Chopper cards that can work together but it's something similar. Even when this card first came out we had enough Laboon cards to be used as an engine package with this card. This condition automatically takes this card out from generic staple territory but the effects are good for what they do. The stat package for the cost is also standard.
Nobody really thinks of this card now but I'd estimate it getting more popular if we ever get some really overpowered Laboon cards.

Monet (OP10-016)
This card was designed so you could automatically meet Caesar's leader effect condition. He ended up being too weak anyway but that doesn't mean this Monet card can't be used in other red colour decks. Stats are standard for the cost and the +1000 counter in hand means if you don't have to play her in the late game if you don't want to.
By resting this card you can give up to 2 DON!! cards to your leader or character and also weaken an opponent's character by 1000 power. What makes this card nice in my opinion is that your opponent will likely have to spend an attack to kill her, even if it's with their leader. If they don't then you can keep getting the bonus turn after turn making it real easy to beat down your opponent's characters.
If this card released in an earlier set it would have been incredible; but released in OP10 means she had to compete with other handy support cards for spots in decks. Right now that competition is even more apparent as we have numerous overpowered cards everywhere for every colour. She's probably still a decent fit in Punk Hazard decks because of synergy with other cards. She's a Doflamingo pirate card too but Doffy is all about purple as of writing this now and the Sugar leader is also very weak to compete.
