Cards Of The Week #1
Marco (PRB02-008)
This card is an unapologetic example of going all the way to make a card as good as possible without giving it ten different effects. While it doesn't really disguise its brokeness, if it's only 1 amazing effect it's a simple card more people can just live by and accept that it's "just broken" and nothing else. Marco has 6000 power which is as good as it gets for a cost 4 character and will draw 2 cards on KO. This would make it an excellent card just leaving it like that but he is also a Blocker. It's not just an added bonus, if you're a Blocker with an on KO effect it essentially gives you almost a free pass on gaining your effect.
There are a few ways your opponent can play around this combination, such as resting this card so it can't block, negating his effect and then killing him, or simply through non KO removal effects. Still, more often than not the combination of Blocker and On KO will go through making this a borderline perfect card and a blue color staple in almost any blue deck.

Monkey. D. Luffy (ST21-014)
This Luffy card is a very simple to use Rush character for any red color deck, but when you compare it with this most contemporary cards of the same cost it kind of misses that +1000 counter while in hand. As of writing this, it is not an old card by all means but it also didn't come out in the last few months. Maybe that's a factor? Either way it would definitely help knowing it isn't useless in hand if you wanted to counter. Every time you attack with this card you can also give 1 rested DON!! to your Leader or any of your characters. That includes this card too, so provided he only gets 1 turn on your field you can basically just turn him into a 7000 Rush attacker for a cost 5 character. Not too bad but there's a lot of competition around.
One of the positive aspects of mid range cost Rush characters besides the obvious Rush is that if it's the only card you can play in a game state when you have a lot more available DON!! you can sort of turn him into a high cost boss character at least for that turn. He was going to attack anyway thanks to Rush so it could be a sound option.
