2025 Pokémon TCG Standard Format Rotation Announcement

Rotation Takes Effect April 11, 2025

As with almost every year, the time has come for another tcg rotation. In technical terms, cards with the “F” regulation mark, will no longer be legal for tournament play in the upcoming standard format. An easier way to look at this is knowing that it's going to be a Scarlet & Violet on format and that the last few sets from the Sword & Shield era with VSTAR pokemon are going away. If you're still unsure about what sets are leaving the image I have below will help.

Sets That Go Away

For written clarification the sets rotating are the following:

  • Brilliant Stars

  • Astral Radiance

  • Pokemon GO

  • Lost Origin

  • Silver Tempest

  • Crown Zenith

  • Pretty much every Sword & Shield promo you can think of.
